Cody Lee Bailey, 76, died January 22, 2007 in Fort Pierce, Florida.Mr. Bailey was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania and was a lifelong resident of Ft. Pierce.Cody was a contractor/developer for 55 years in Ft. Pierce. As a community leader he had been Past President of Florida Jaycee’s and National Director of the US Jaycees, Founder & President of the Fort Pierce Contractors Association, Founding Chairman of the Tri County Mental Health Association, he was selected as one of Florida’s 5 outstanding young men, St. Lucie County Commissioner from 1964-1968 and St. Lucie County/Fort Pierce Fire District Chairman.He had a huge list of many other organizations he joined to make a difference and to make Fort Pierce a better place to live and raise our families.Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Bailey of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Steve Davi of Ft. Pierce, FL; son & daughter-in-law, Britt & Vonnie Bailey of Ft. Pierce, FL; granddaughter, Michele & Michael Dees of Vero Beach, FL, granddaughter, Wyndi Wright of Vero Beach, FL, grandson, Cody L. Best of Ft. Pierce, FL, grandson, Michael & Angela Best of Summerville, SC, granddaughters, Melissa Peavy of Port St. Lucie, FL, Trisha Lynn Bailey of Jensen Beach, FL, Brittany Bailey of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kelly & David Immoos of Lake Worth, FL; great-grandsons, Bryce Doss, Christian Bartow, Hunter Williams and Shawn Immoos; great-granddaughters, Alexis Best, Skylar Best, Layla Meader and Mariah Peavy; and brother, Charles P. “Bill” Bailey & wife, Patricia of Ocala, FL.
