Rieth, Dale Edward
93, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, formerly of Sarasota, Florida died December 16, 2023. Dale is survived by sons Dale, Jr. of Merritt Island, Florida and Nicholas of Castle Rock, Colorado, daughter Holly of Pasadena, California, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. June, his wife, and love of his life, died in 2013.
Dale spent a lifetime managing cities and governmental agencies and was a consultant to foreign governments in several parts of the world. Dale worked with municipalities in Ukraine, Hungary, and Slovakia to transition from Communism to private market economies. He previously was Director of the Sarasota County, Florida Solid Waste Collection Division, City Manager of Venice, Florida and Crestwood, Missouri, and a Director of Procurement for St. Louis County, Missouri. Dale also served in public administration for three years to reorganize the Imperial Ethiopian Highway Authority in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in Africa.
Dale attended the University of Missouri and spent six years in the U.S. Army Counterintelligence Corps. He travelled the world extensively for work and pleasure, often with his family, through Africa, Europe, Russia, England, South America, and Alaska.
