Daniel Patrick Mcdevitt

Daniel Patrick McDevitt, 87, died May 20, 2021 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

He was a proud second generation Irishman. Dan was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania and moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1966.

Dan graduated from Bristol High School, Class of 1951. He then went on to attend Rider College, graduating in 1956. Daniel was employed as a business teacher at John Carroll High School for 37 years and was truly an inspiration to many generations of students. He was also the owner of The Island Record Shop in Ship Bottom, New Jersey. In addition, he was the owner of East Coast College, Gold Coast Press and Video Data Services.

Daniel was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed reading, magic, history, travel and casinos.

Survivors include his sister, Maureen McDevitt of Fort Pierce, FL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Anthony McDevitt and mother, Edith Amisson McDevitt.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
