Darlene Graham Mirdo

On December 3rd, 2016 an Angel left us. Darlene Graham Mirdo passed away at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center after complications from heart surgery. She was 75 years old.

Darlene is survived by her partner of over 12 years: Tom (Lava) Ford, 4 children: Ricky-Linda, Andy, Roxanne, and Mark along with 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren and another on the way.

Always putting others first, even while in the hospital her great concern was getting not 1 but 2 turkeys to the shelter for Thanksgiving. A kind lady at the hospital made that happen.

Darlene cherished every little thing she did and saw, and carefully saved in perfect condition, every card and letter from those she cared about, even ticket stubs from events she attended.

Dancing was probably her greatest joy, especially to live music. She loved all animals and critters, as well as the many beautiful flowers and trees she planted and so carefully tended to. She loved to cook awesome meals that look and taste great. Darlene also loved the beach, the sun, and all of nature.

After a recent eye surgery, Darlene was able to see as never before and put that improved vision to good use during several wonderful trips with Lava, especially a trip in May to Costa Rica. This was one of the happiest times of her life and everything was perfect!

Darlene was and is our most precious Angel, best friend, wonderful mother, loving partner, always encouraging and supportive, never condescending, always seeing the best in others, quick to forgive, and ever setting a good Christian example.

We all miss her very much.
