Darwin L. Williams, 83, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away peacefully in his sleep May 16, 2022.
Darwin Leslie Williams (Bull) was born on June 4, 1938 to parents, Reginald Williams and Rosalie Ellis in Christiansted, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. He was a fun-loving individual who enjoyed being around people and was always considered the “life of the party” wherever he was.
He received his early education at schools in St. Croix where he attended Holy Cross Catholic High School before moving to New York City. He completed High School in New York and attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he entered the ROTC program. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting before serving on a tour of Duty (1957-1961) with the US Air Force. He would go on to earn a Master's degree in Taxation and Finance from Pace University – New York. After becoming a Certified Public Accountant, Darwin worked with some of New York City’s major accounting firms before opening his own office.
On October 16, 1983, he was joined in Holy Wedlock to Calliope Blyden, formerly of Nassau, Bahamas, at St. James Episcopal Church in Elmhurst, Queens, New York.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of almost 39 years, Calliope (Cally) Blyden of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughters, Sandra Williams of Bronx, NY, and Ann Williams of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; son, Dr. Elliott Williams (Althea) of Orlando, FL; brother, Warren Williams of Bronx, NY; sisters, Regina Williams of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Athalie Hunte of Bronx, NY and Lucille Thomas also of Bronx, NY; grandchildren, Tiffany Chisholm, Deleray Chisholm, Dashawn Williams, Richard Motta Jr, Evernie Motta-Ramos, Ronald Motta, Elise Williams, and Alicia Williams; great-grandchildren, Keturah Chisholm, Micah Chisholm, Braydyn Wheeler, Xavier Wheeler, Royal Williams, Ryann Motta, Roix Motta, Jediah Ramos, Jeniyah Ramos, Esade Jordan, Neveah Motta and Noah Motta. He also leaves behind his beloved in-laws, Ricalda Williams, Veta (Granville) Brown, Persis (William) Hepburn, Dr. Gershwin (Donna) Blyden, Louise Blyden, and John (Princess) Blyden, special friends, Candy Matthews, Fred Lewis, Dennis Rookwood, Eleanor Cerge, Shirley Maycock and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends too numerous to mention individually.
Darwin was predeceased by his parents, Reginald Williams and Rosalie Ellis; his son, Ray Williams, who was killed in a car accident as a youngster; and his brother, Larry Williams, formerly of Queens, NY.
Darwin was a faithful member of Holy Faith Episcopal Church, where he was a member of the Men’s group. He and Cally were also Co-Chairs of the Stewardship Ministry for several years. Darwin was enthusiastic about professional sports – his favorites were golf, tennis, basketball, and baseball. He loved dancing and life. He was a supporter of the Special Olympics, Florida.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 4PM to 7PM at the Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port St. Lucie, FL 34984. A service will be held at Holy Faith Episcopal Church on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 11AM. Burial will take place at South Florida VA Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. at a date to be announced.
