Dave Gessner

Dave Gessner, 81, died April 18, 2007 in Port St. Lucie, FL.Mr. Gessner was born in Reading, PA and moved to Port St. Lucie coming from Ft. Lauderdale, FL.He came to Port St. Lucie in 1959 to be the Director of Recreation and later becoming the Executive Director of the Fort Pierce/St. Lucie County YMCA. He was a member & Deacon of First Baptist Church of Ft. Pierce, member of the Administrative Community of the Church, Editor of the First Baptist Church Monthly Newsletter & Interim Minister of Music for the church, very active member of the Ft. Pierce Kiwanis Club for many years, served on the St. Lucie County Recreation Board and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Beth Gessner of Port St. Lucie, FL; son & daughter-in-law, David & Cindy Gessner of Durham, NC; daughter & son-in-law, Suzanne & Andy Morris of Royal Palm Beach, FL; son & daughter-in-law, Mark & Mary Jo Gessner of Madison, AL; daughter & son-in-law, Robin & Matt Fry of Fruitland Park, FL; brother, Bob Gessner of Allentown, PA; grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Catherine, and Mary Gessner, Travis and Clay Morris, Jessye and Harris Gessner.
