David Anthony Alfiero (Alfie) of Port St Lucie, FL passed away April 15, 2015 at Tradition Medical Center, Port St Lucie, FL.
He was born November 29, 1950 to the late Anthony and Josephine (Alfiero) Fiore. He graduated from Westerly High School.
David worked for 23 years at Shetucket Plumbing before realizing his dream of moving to a warmer climate in 2000. He retired from Martin County Utilities Dept. in November 2014, where he worked as a lift station mechanic. He was a member of the local Teamsters union 769. .
David was a die hard Yankees and Giants fan. He loved his fur and feathered kids. Riding his motorcycle would put a grin on his face from ear to ear. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife Cindy and doting on their pets.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cindy (Morenzoni) Alfiero; his brother Anthony Fiore (Cynthia) of Westerly, RI; his sister Jane Howard of Pawcatuck, CT; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Esther Thompson, Philomena Taylor, Natalie Turano, Martha Burley and Sam Fiore.
David will be laid to rest at Rolling Oaks Cemetery in Port St Lucie, FL. A visitation will be held, Thursday April 23, 2015 from 4-6 pm and a service to follow at 6pm at the Haisley Funeral Home 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd, Port St Lucie, FL. Burial will be private.
There will be a celebration of David’s life in Westerly, RI this summer at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St Lucie County Humane Society.
