David Edward Manista, Sr.

David E. Manista, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend was called home at the age of 76 on January 19, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.

Born on May 3, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward and Angela Manista. David grew up in Mantua, Ohio and received his diploma from Crestwood High School where after graduating pursuing a career with First Energy and retired after 36 years. Upon his life journey it was in Ravenna, Ohio that he met the love of his life Karen Prochaska and their love story began. David and Karen married in 1970 and became devoted parents to Becky, Amy, and David Jr. raising their family with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. 

After fulfilling a career at First Energy and raising his family David and wife Karen retired to Florida where he embraced a life of relaxation and sunshine.

David spent a year on the board of directors in High Point and volunteered his time cooking and helping at the womens club. In his free time David loved fishing, camping, dancing, playing cards, horseshoes, and painting. He found great happiness in sharing stories, enjoyed sitting by his bonfires, doing small projects, and was well known for his playful spirit and sense of humor.

David is survived by wife, Karen Manista, daughters Becky (Billy), Amy (Bob), son David, Jr. (Christina), grandfather to Mandalynn (James), Robert Jr., Aidan, Abigail, Aryanna, Asher, and great-grandfather to Carson. Beloved brother of Marcia (John deceased), brother-in-law of Gerald, John, George, Lenore, Jimmy, and Donna.

Predeceased by Edward and Angela Manista, Laverne, Louie, Michael, and Richard. 

He has gone to his eternal home and rests in God loving embrace. His kindness and laughter are carried forward by those he leaves behind. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Fort Pierce.
