David A. VanCise, 63, died August 16, 2013, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
David was born in Jamestown, New York and was a resident of Fort Pierce for the past 40 years, coming from Russell, Pennsylvania.
He was a Master Instructor in Construction & Alternative Energy at Indian River State College for 17 years. He was a Christian missionary in over 15 countries, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, was member of Treasure Coast Builders Association and a Master Carpenter.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Dawn VanCise of Fort Pierce; daughter, Meribeth Sterrett of Port St. Lucie; grandchildren, Brittany VanMeter and Kelliann Sterrett, both of Port St. Lucie; brother, Larry VanCise of Warren, PA; sisters, Lillian Cable and Ruthie Gray both of Russell, PA, Former Spouse and mother of Meribeth, Martha VanCise; and, a step-brother, Kevin Elbers.
Memorial contributions may be made in David’s memory to Indian River State College Foundation.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 22nd, 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Haisley Chapel. A church service will be held on Friday, August 23rd at 1:00 at Indian River Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in White City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
