Della “Dolly” (Allison) Menninger, 89, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away at her home on September 10, 2021.
Della was born on December 31, 1931 to John Earl and Gertrude McMurray in Dearborn, Michigan. She moved to Hialeah, Florida in 1960, then moved to Port Saint Lucie in 1985.
Della loved children and respected our service veterans leading her to work for the Port St. Lucie Police Department as a Crossing Guard, as well as the AMVETS National Service Foundation, to assist in providing services to American Veterans.
Della enjoyed baking reading and various arts and crafts; such as painting and making Christmas decorations. She was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church.
Survivors include; granddaughter, Nicole K. Wounded Arrow (Jean-Paul A. Blanchard) of Fort Pierce, Florida. She was predeceased by; parents, Gertrude Elizabeth Allison (Baker) and John Earl Allison-McMurray; sisters; Betty Allison, Patricia Marie Palmer (Allison), and Sarah Jane Allison; half-brother, Charles Merrill Teeters; husband, Leonard Andrew Menninger Jr; son, John Earl Menninger (Vietnam Veteran); daughter, Rhonda Sue Wounded Arrow (Menninger); grandson, Brandon Joseph Wounded Arrow.
