Delores (Davis) York, 69, of Ft. Pierce lost her 13-year battle with Alzheimers on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at her residence.Mrs. York was born to Cecil Woodward and Lucy (Spence) Davis in Waycross, Georgia July 15, 1939.She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was a deaconess. She was also a lifelong member of the Florida State Beekeepers association.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and best friend who loved to cook and crochet. She worked in the Apiary (Honey Bee) business with her husband for 26 years after moving to Ft. Pierce in 1969 where she has since remained a resident. She was known as Mossie by family members who will miss her love, laughter, funny sayings, but most of all the nurturing hugs and kisses when you needed or just wanted them.Survivors include her devoted husband of 51 years, L.C. (Tony) York. Also surviving are her two children, Tommy D. York of Eastanollee, GA and Tina M. York of Ft. Pierce, FL; four grandchildren, Christy (Cliff) Forgue of Kissimmee, FL, Randy (Sheila) York of Killeen, TX, Anthony (Pamela) York of Ft. Pierce, FL, Katie York of Port St. Lucie, FL; and five great-grandchildren, Dakota, Laci, Anthony, Jr., Clifford, and Kyleigh; also a lifelong friend, Linda Joyce Hutto; brother, Dan L. Davis; two sisters, Mary Tanner and Patsy Dean; and a host of other family members.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation, 700 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach, FL 33401.Services: A gathering will be from 1-2 PM on July 23, 2008 at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL. A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jim King officiating.
