Delores “Lorrie” Ann Maxen, 73, of Port St. Lucie passed away surrounded by her family on April 25, 2024.

 Lorrie was born in Evansville, IN to Edward and Helen (Durchholz) Baumgart on June 13, 1950. Lorrie graduated from Rex Mundi High school before attending Indiana University as an undergraduate earning her master’s in education.

Lorrie loved to travel and managed to visit five continents. Lorrie was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was a devoted and well-loved member of St. Lucie Catholic Church and will be forever remembered for her baking among the members of the congregation.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Truman, mother and father, Helen and Ed Baumgart, as well as brothers, Bob and Gene Baumgart.

Memories of Lorrie will be forever cherished by her children, Mark Maxen of North Carolina, Emily Maxen Leuthold of Port St. Lucie, FL, Sarah Thompson of Mt Vernon, IN, Jonathan Maxen of Pivot Drive. She is also survived by her sister, Sherry Baumgart of Evansville, IN and bother Ed Baumgart of Mt. Vernon, IN. Her grandchildren, Lex of Florida and Rhett and Levi of Indiana will cherish her love for years to come.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to Moffitt Cancer Research Center or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Memorial Mass Tuesday, May 7th at St. Lucie Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Lorrie’s family will take her home to Indiana at a later date.
