Denise Nancy Shine, PHD, 87, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away January 16, 2022.
Denise was born May 31, 1934 in Bronx, New York to Dennis and Mary Shine. She grew up in New York, joining the Order of Sisters of St. Agnes. Denise held multiple degrees including a Bachelor of Science from Marian College, a Master’s degree from Purdue University, a Master’s degree from Fordham University. Denise would go on to earn her Doctorate in Psychology from Fordham, as well. She worked at Central New York as Chief Psychologist.
Dr. Shine is an alumnus of Phi Beta Kappa, a member of the Society of Sigma Xi, the American Psychological Association and St. Lucie Catholic Church. When she was not helping people, she loved reading and solving puzzles.
Survivors include sister, Josephine Rispoli and Josephine’s children; Alfonso Rispoli, Maria Rispoli and Joanne Coppola; as well as nephews, Douglas, Kenneth, and Kevin Goff. She was preceded by her parents, Dennis and Mary Shine, brother, Denis Shine and sister, Eileen Goff.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan 27, 2022 from 6PM to 8PM with a Prayer Service to start at 7PM at the Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port St. Lucie, Fl 34984. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 9:30AM at St. Lucie Catholic Church 290 NW Prima Vista Blvd Port St. Lucie, FL 34983, with Burial at Rolling Oaks Cemetery 2200 SW Del Rio Blvd Port St. Lucie, Fl 34953.
