Dennis “Denny” Green, Sr., 82, passed away on February 8, 2023 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Green was born in Dunlap, Tennessee and came to Fort Pierce in 1971 from Huntsville, AL. He opened his first barber shop in 1972 and was the owner/operator of 4 beauty salons from Stuart to Vero Beach. He was instrumental in the founding of Safe Space in 1979. Denny was elected to St. Lucie County Commissioner from 1988 to 1992. He was also a collector of Highwayman Art. In his free time, he loved boating and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Green of Fort Pierce, FL; sons, Dennis (Teresa) Green, Jr. of Vero Beach, FL and Terry (Marco) Green of Denver, CO; daughter, Jenny (Gene) Powell of Mason, OH; grandchildren, Chelsey Nelson, Jessica Sullivan, Evan Foster-Powell, Joseph Powell and Nicholas Powell; great-grandchildren, Ryley Sullivan, Landon Sullivan, Luke Sullivan, Elliott Sullivan, and Logan Nelson.
Services: A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Indian River Presbyterian Church, Fort Pierce.
