Dennis (Denny) F. Holerger, 69, of Port St. Lucie, Florida entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 23, 2014.
He was born in Barberton, Ohio on October 24, 1945 and came to Florida in 1960.
Denny Graduated from Dan Mc Carty High School and followed in his father’s footsteps in Law Enforcement. He retired from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in 1998 and from Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office in 2003. He was instrumental in implementing School Resource Programs, Crime Prevention, 1st Deputy recognized for Crime Prevention Coalition in Florida, organized Crime Watch Programs, and Citizens Observation Patrols and was also a member of ALS Association of Florida. He loved family time, fishing, and telling stories of his years in Law Enforcement.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn S. Holerger of Port St. Lucie, FL; sons, Danny (Jenny) Mitchem and L. Scott Mitchem; daughters, Sandra Rawls, Amy (Jimmy) Sheffield, and J.L. Holerger; sister, Marla G. Holerger; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
