Dewey Roderick Earnhardt, 87, transitioned on November 18, 2015 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Mr. Earnhardt was born in West Palm Beach and has been a lifelong resident of Florida.
He was a World War II Veteran. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines / United States Coast Guard.
Dewey was an avid reader. He also enjoyed the mountains of North Carolina, his family at home and church, as well as fishing and sailing.
Survivors include his daughter, Ellen Haffield of Fort Pierce, son John Earnhardt and Glen Newland of Vero Beach, grandsons, Brian Earnhardt, Benjamin Earnhardt, Eric and Steven Slusser, Todd Goldstein, and Jason Haffield all of Fort Pierce, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Lou Earnhardt, daughter Melanie Slusser, son Daniel Earnhardt, and grandson Brian Goldstein.

Services: A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Westside Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, with a potluck reception to follow.
