Dolores Kay Woodall
August 20, 1940 - May 23, 2021
Dolores Kay Woodall, age 80, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Treasure Coast Hospice House. She was born August 20, 1940 in East Liverpool, Ohio and raised on the family farm in Carroll County, Ohio. Kay is the eldest of eight children born to Wayne and Wilda (Sheline) Parker. Educated in Augusta and Minerva schools, she graduated as valedictorian of her senior class in 1958.
Kay was an active member and held many offices at the local and state levels in Order of the Eastern Star Ruth Chapter no. 7 Fort Pierce, Florida; Order of the Amaranth Treasure Coast Court no. 76; and Daughters of the Nile Aquarius Temple no. 138.
She learned a strong work ethic from the employ of many occupations beginning at a young age and throughout her lifetime: as strawberry picker at area farms and as restaurant waitress in her youth, as Avon lady and as insurance secretary while raising her family in Ohio, and as retail clerk and as St. Lucie County IRCC educational assistant after her move to Florida. But her proudest role was that of homemaker, mom, and family elder to which she was devoted for a lifetime.
Kay enjoyed serving others. She was happiest when serving a meal for others, playing cards and board games (winner put the game away), enjoying long late-night conversations, and giving the best heart-felt hugs. Her home was a frequent respite for friends and family, whether traveling from afar or just enjoying an afternoon of fellowship. She never met a stranger. And when Kay is your friend, you have a friend for life.
Kay is survived by Frank Woodall, her husband for more than half a century whom she married July 14, 1957; son, Scott Woodall of Perrysburg, Ohio; daughter, Kimberly (Joe) Pallotta of Hilliard, Ohio; two sisters, Sally (John) Hanan of Kensington, Ohio and Toni (Jim) Burchfield of Kensington, Ohio; three brothers, Kenneth (Thelma) Parker of Salem, Ohio, Timothy (Lori) Parker of Minerva, Ohio, and Christopher Parker of Ormond Beach, FL; sisters-in-law, Raylee Parker of Canton, Ohio and Betty Parker of Kensington, Ohio; and a loving multitude nephews, nieces, and cousins. She is preceded in death by brothers, John David Parker and Jan Parker.
