R. Donald Snyder passed away at home in Ft. Pierce, FL on August 11, 2015 at the age of 85 surrounded by family.
Don is predeceased by his mother Nina, father Raymond and two brothers, Richard and Robert.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Geraldine and his son Russ, and is lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-laws, and extended family. He will be especially remembered for his quick wit, caring spirit and gentle heart.
Don was born in Cortland, NY on June 5, 1930. He graduated from Cortland State Teachers College in 1956 with a Master’s Degree and taught school in St. Lucie County for 30 years. Prior to college, he served in the U.S. Army and played French horn in the Army Band.
The service will be held at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34947 on Saturday, August 15, 2015. Viewing will be at 11:30am with funeral services at 12:30pm. Burial at White City Cemetery located at 3800 Sunrise Blvd, Fort Pierce, FL will immediately follow.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, 5090 NW Dunn Rd, Ft. Pierce, FL 34981 or to the Cortland College Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 2000, Cortland, NY 13045.
