Donald "Donnie" Steven Blazer

Donald (Donnie) Steven Blazer of Fort Pierce Florida, formally of Wilmington NC, passed away on June 3, 2021.

Donnie was born November 19, 1948 in Pittsburg PA. He was the son of Geraldine Sims and Joseph Blazer. Donnie was one of 4 boys (Thomas, David and Joseph).

He is survived by His daughter Kelli Blazer Vanscoy and his Granddaughter Kaitlyn Vanscoy, his two younger brothers and several nieces and nephews.

Donnie grew up in Wilmington, NC where he graduated from New Hanover High School in 1967. In his younger years Donnie lived at Wrightsville Beach where he fell in love with the beach life of sunshine and flip flops. This is where he met Dee Hazelton and they married shortly after in 1970. Donnie worked at several TV stations as an engineer, he managed a popular WB bar where he again enjoyed the beach life and worked for a local Beer Distributor setting up draft beer at local establishments. He was ahead of his time when he decided to run a drive thru convenient store in Columbus Mississippi and he brought that to Wilmington when the he moved back opening Donnie’s Drive Thru. Donnie’s second marriage was to Linda James in 1983. Donnie was a carpenter by trade and worked many years building banks and custom staircases. Donnie loved sail boats, boating, fishing and an ice cold Budweiser Beer. More than anything Donnie loved his daughter Kelli and Grand-daughter Kaitlyn and he spent the final years of his life enjoying their bond and talking about them to everyone he met.
