Donald Eugene Adkins, 63, died September 13, 2011, in Eatonton, Georgia.
Donald was born in Highland Park, Illinois, and resided in Eatonton, Georgia for the past eleven years, coming from New Smyrna, Florida.
He grew up in Fort Pierce and graduated from Dan McCarty High School, served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
He was a building contractor.
Survivors include his son, Donald of Vero Beach, FL and daughter, Kelly of Port St. Lucie, FL; mother, Lorraine M. Adkins of St. Lucie Village, FL; brothers Darrell E. (Maria) Adkins of Parrish, FL, Danny E. (Cheryl) Adkins of Fort Pierce, FL, Stephen B. (Kathy) Adkins of Live Oak, FL, and sister, Deborah E. Brunen of Clayton, GA. He is preceded in death by his father Bob A. Adkins.
Memorial contributions may be made in Donald’s memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 24th at 4:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home Chapel.
