Donola Virginia Sprinkle-Randleman

May 3, 1926 — October 19, 2015

Donola Virginia “Donna” Sprinkle-Randleman, 89, died October 19, 2015 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Donna was an amazingly independent woman. She fulfilled her lifetime dream of moving to Florida from North Carolina in 1966 with her husband, daughter and son. On weekends she enjoyed spending time on their boat going to the lagoon islands, fishing and exploring. She loved to walk the beach and pick up shells. Her passion of collecting sea shells was passed down to her grandchildren. She took them on many adventures to Sanibel Island, Sebastian Inlet, Marine Land and many other Florida attractions. Her grandchildren enjoyed spending those times with her collecting sea creatures and sea shells to use in many craft projects. Donna was very well known for her vast sea shell collection. However, she is best known for her salt and pepper shaker collection that began in 1944. Her collection includes sets from all over the world and includes a grand total of over 3500 sets. She meticulously logged every set with a number; cataloging who gave them to her, description and date they were received. It was her prize collection.

She became Florida's first female driver's license examiner with the Highway Patrol in 1971. She also worked for a period of time for Jacobson Dodge. She then opened her own business out of her home doing bookkeeping and tax consulting for the next forty years, retiring at the age of 84. During her years of retirement she enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and watching game shows and Judge Judy.

Her family was her heart and soul, to which she always looked out for each one till the very end. There will not be another woman like her, and words will never be able to express how deeply missed she will be, for not only her family but for anyone who was blessed to have had her touch their lives as well.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Dale Randleman of Fort Pierce, FL; son, Barry Joe “BJ” Randleman of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Randall Joe Randleman of Fort Pierce, FL, Christina Randleman of Fort Pierce, FL, Rachel Collier of Vero Beach, FL and Scott Elliott of Winston-Salem, NC; great-grandchildren, Robert Joe Randleman of Chattanooga, TN, Samuel Collier and Claire Collier both of Vero Beach, FL, Jack and Alexis Elliott both of Winston-Salem, NC and Jaime Sauseda of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Doris Andrews of Honduras. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Joe Randleman, sister, Betty Lou Garner, and brothers, Cecil Thomas Sprinkle, Jr. and Kenneth Sprinkle.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981 www.TCHospice.org
