Doris Elizabeth Ard, 87, died July 26, 2011 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Mrs. Ard was born in Moville, Iowa and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1954 coming from Amityville, New York.
She was a charter member of the Community United Methodist Church and former member of the First United Methodist Church. She worked in the Nursery at Community United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Randy Ard of Ft. Pierce, FL, Dennis Ard of Lehigh Acres, FL and David Ard of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter, Sandy Pauley of Ft. Pierce, FL; brother, Robert Cochran of Kansas City, MO; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Captain John Mieras Ard and 5 brothers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community United Methodist Church, 3114 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34947.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Community United Methodist Church.
