Dorothy Swerk, age 96, of Stuart, FL passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Parkway Health and Rehabilitation Center, under the care of Hospice.
She was born and raised in Niagara Falls NY, the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie [Schroder] Duff.
Dorothy worked in Retail Services at Hens & Kelley, the Rainbow Mall and other stores in Niagara Falls. Upon retiring to Stuart, Fl, she spent many hours volunteering by reading to children at the Family and Children Services and also donated her time to the Hospice Thrift Shop.
Dorothy was the oldest member of the Florida Audobon Society.
She was known by family and friends, who admired her as Aunt Dorothy.
Dorothy was the wife of the late Stanley Swerk.
She is survived by her sister Marjorie San Lorenzo, her nieces, Debbie
(James) Lewandowski, Dianne San Lorenzo, Sunnie San Lorenzo and Michelle Duff, also her nephew David (Vincenette) SanLorenzo.
She was the sister of the late Robert Duff.
Dorothy's burial will take place at St. Michaels Cemetery in Niagara Falls at a date to be announced.
