Dorothy J. Halsey, 90, died April 12, 2016 in Stuart, Florida.
Mrs. Halsey was born in Freeport, Michigan and resided in Fort Pierce since 1981 coming from Charlotte, Michigan.
She graduated from Vermontville High School and then went on to nursing training. She married Dean Halsey on December 24, 1948 and they were married for 62 years. She sold Beeline Fashions and was a real estate agent with Hoyt C. Murphy, Doris White and Maryanne Brown.
She enjoyed cooking, crafts, quilting, square dancing, painting, and playing cards with family and friends most all. She would play cards every morning over coffee with Dean. She loved making new friends and would laugh so hard at times that her sides would hurt.
Survivors include her daughters, Stephanie Reid of Fort Pierce, FL and Deana Hamel (Paul Sprague) of Almond, WI; son, Michael Halsey (Kathy) of Fort Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Jarvy Reid, Scotland Dean Reid, Ben Reid, Lex Reid, Matt Halsey, Sarah Halsey, Emily Hamel, and Gina Connors; great-granddaughter, Sofia Reid.
