Dorothy Kinsfather

Dorothy (Betty) Kinsfather died June 26, 2011 at the age of 81.

Betty grew up in St. Lucie County and graduated from Ft. Pierce High School in 1947. She attended F.S.U. where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She transferred to the University of Florida and graduated in 1951.
She began her teaching career in Winter Park, and taught three years for the Air Force in Puerto Rico. She moved to Arizona where she taught thirty-one years in the Scottsdale School System as a third grade teacher and as a librarian. While there she earned a Master’s degree in Audio-Visual Education.

After retirement she moved to Melbourne Village. She volunteered at the West Melbourne Library and at the Melbourne Village Police Department.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing bridge, going on cruises and football season, especially Gator football, and was of the Episcopalian faith.

Mrs. Kinsfather is preceded by her parents, Alice and James Pace, Sr. of Ft. Pierce, her brother and sister-in-law, Marjorie and James Pace, Jr., her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and “Skippy” Gray of Ft. Pierce, her nieces, Becky Gray and Sally Wimmer.

She is survived by her nieces, Elisabeth “Libbie” Ely of Vero Beach and Lisa Goss of Palm Bay; two grand-nieces, Becky Ely and Taylor Goss and a grand-nephew, Andrew Ely.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Haisley Funeral Home Chapel with inurnment taking place at Riverview Memorial Park at a later date.
