Dorothy Borland Needs, 92, died April 15, 2016 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Needs was born in White Springs, Florida and was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce.
Dorothy was a Patriot, of the Baptist faith, having received salvation at the 1961 Billy Graham Crusade at the Fort Pierce Amphitheater. She traveled the world with her husband, and volunteered with St. Lucie County Fair Association. She loved crocheting, gardening and reading. She did exactly what she wanted to do. She loved children and would bring cupcakes to class parties and make sure all the classes would have a cupcake. Beanie Backus’ house was her mother’s home.
Survivors include her children, Glee (Richard) Warren of Fort Pierce, FL, Ford (Janet) Kessler of Port Townsend, WA, Deborah K. (Rick) Stutsman of Maryville, TN, Harold Allen (Su Ann) Kessler of Fort Pierce, FL, John Raymond (Cindy) Kessler of Jacksonville, FL and Melissa Needs (Greg) French of Fort Pierce, FL; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Master Sergeant Gleeford Kessler, Sr. and Franklin L. Needs, grandson, Danny Boy Kessler, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Services: Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 1-2 PM with a service to follow at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
