Dorothy “Dot” Walker, 93, died February 24, 2020, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, daughter, sister of 10, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother!
Mrs. Walker was born in Steubenville, Ohio. At the age of seventeen, Dorothy served as a welder in her hometown during World War II. She graduated from Steubenville High in 1944 and began working for Ohio Bell as a telephone operator. Upon moving to Florida she transferred her career to Southern Bell, where she would eventually retire from. In 1972 she moved with her husband and two daughters to Fort Pierce.
She was a member of the C.W.A. and was a regular bowler in the Sparemaker league and played on the team, “Sunshine Girls.” She loved to get her hair done and go bowling weekly. When she was home relaxing in her chair, she would love to watch all of the main sporting events such as football, golf, basketball, and baseball. No matter what sporting event, she loved a good game back and forth with scoring, but always loved to root for the “underdog” team.
When sporting events were over you knew she would be watching “the wheel” better known as Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy! Anytime extended family or guests would visit, she would fix up her homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs!
Survivors include her daughters, T.J. Crowley and Denise Walker both of Fort Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Kristin Walker of Gainesville, FL and Matthew (Jessica) Brewster of Fort Pierce, FL; great-grandchildren, Sebastian Sater, Deacon and Delaney Brewster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson James “Jim” Walker, 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
