Doug James, known to many as "Big Guy", was born June 30, 1936 and died peacefully in his Vero Beach home on September 4, 2007.He came to the Treasure Coast from Chattanooga in 1980. He had retired from his profession as an art dealer and was a familiar figure on North Beach in Ft. Pierce, where he walked daily for many years. He was truly generous with his smile and his time. He touched many lives with his wisdom and gentle humor. He loved and was loved by many, and was a friend to all he met. Those who had the privilege of spending time with Doug will never forget him. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Collison of Vero Beach, his former wife Jackie James of Roseland, Florida; two brothers, Dee James of Chattanooga and Donald James of Annandale, Virginia; two daughters, Suzi James of Ft. Pierce and Merle Kincaid of Richmond Virginia; his grandson Benjamin Baumker of Ft.
