Dr. Kenneth David Gilmore

Dr. Kenneth “Kenney” David Gilmore passed away on February 9, 2024 in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was 67 years old.

Dr. Gilmore was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 24, 1956 and was a life-long resident of Fort Pierce, Florida.

Kenney grew up in Fort Pierce, where he was a stand-out athlete.  He graduated from John Caroll High School (1974), Indian River Community College, and Troy University (1978).  He was awarded second team All American for college baseball at Troy University.  Upon completion of college, he was immediately drafted to play professional baseball with the Cleveland Indians. Later he returned to school to earn his medical degree at Life Chiropractic College (1988). 

Ken was a dedicated professional and a natural born healer. He pursued a career as a Chiropractic Physician for over 30 years in Fort Pierce.  His legacy of helping patients is unmatched.

He enjoyed classic cars, baseball, football, weightlifting, and  motorcycles. He cherished his family above all else and found joy in spending quality time with them.  He especially enjoyed attending all of his children’s sporting events and watching them excel in their careers.  He was happily married to Kerri for 27 years. Their marriage was filled with love and they enjoyed working together, traveling, and hosting family and friends in their home. 

Survivors include his father, George Gilmore of Fort Pierce, FL; wife, Kerri Gilmore of Fort Pierce, FL; sons, Kyle Gilmore of Avon, Colorado and Kohl Gilmore of Bonita Springs, FL; daughter, Kerrigan Gilmore of Fort Pierce, FL; sister, Susan (Eddie) Ruff of Fort Pierce, FL; brother, Dale Gilmore (Karen Blanton) of Fort Pierce, FL; sister-in-law, Carmen Gilmore of Fort Pierce, FL; mother in law, Carol Kuhn of Vero Beach, FL;  father in law, Paul Kuhn of Hartsel, CO; brother in law, Paul Kuhn Jr ( Katie) of Fort Pierce, FL ; brother in law, Timothy Kuhn (Katie) of Fort Pierce, FL along with a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Gilmore of Fort Pierce, FL.   He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Services:  A service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Westside Church, Fort Pierce.  A private graveside service will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to John Carroll High School Baseball team: Donate
