Edna L. (Chandler) Peeples, 91, of Ft. Pierce, passed on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at her home.
She was born January 3, 1925, in New York City, NY, the daughter of the late Clarence Sinclair Chandler Bay and Miriam (Rock) Chandler. She was brought up in New York City and was a long time resident of South Norwalk, Connecticut. She has been a resident of Ft. Pierce since 1988.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress for several factories in New York and Connecticut.
Mrs. Peeples was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, attending the Kingdom Hall on Midway Road, Ft. Pierce. She loved jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku's, crossword puzzles, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She made sweaters for her husband and her many family members, and also made a suit for her son.
Edna was the wife of the late Clarence Peeples, and is survived by her sons, Clarence R. Peeples of West Haven, CT, Samuel F. Peeples of Lauderhill, FL and Rodney Peeples of Port St. Lucie, FL; a daughter, Stephanie L. Odunsi of Ft. Pierce, FL; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Cofield of New York, NY; several nieces and nephews, and two sister-in-law's, Flora Morris and Kathryn Dorothy Knowles both of Fort Pierce, FL. She is predeceased by her son, Edward A. Peeples of Ft. Pierce, FL, who passed on January 15, 2016.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Kingdom Hall, Midway Rd., Ft. Pierce. Burial will follow at 12:30pm in White City Cemetery, Ft. Pierce.
