Mr. Bennett was born in Camden, New Jersey and moved to Fort Pierce in 2013 coming from Hurt, Virginia.
He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Vero Beach. He enjoyed fishing and building.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Margaret Bennett of Fort Pierce, FL; sons, Edward H. Bennett, Jr. of Dagsboro, DE, James C. Bennett of Vero Beach, FL, David F. Bennett of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Michael J. Bennett of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; sister, Wilma Van Sciber of Fort Myers, FL; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
