Edward James Bess

Edward James Bess was born on September 30, 1954 in Fulton, New York,
to Eddie Lee and Irene Bess. As the baby of six children, Eddie grew up to
be a protective man, always looking out for his children and family.

Eddie grew up in Wabasso Fl., attending Douglas Elementary and Gifford
High School. He developed a career, out of doing what he loved the most,
driving trucks locally and long distance. Eddie married Marina in 1983, and
had a loving family of 3 sons and 2 daughters who thought the sun rose
and set in their father. He is survived by sons, E. Derrick Miraglilo, Lonnie
J. Peoples, Edward Sherrod Bess (Tomeisha), daughters; Jakkia L Whitehead (Jaye),
and Janekka Bess, Sister Blonzene Woolard (Columbus), and his lifelong
friend and partner, Marina Miraglilo. Together they shared 14
grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews and a
host of dear family and friends.

Eddie’s pride and joy remained in his “best production,” and “highest
achievement,” the “fabulous five” who are often heard to say, “Our father
taught us about the world, our mother protected us from the world.”
Eddie passed peacefully at the Treasure Coast Hospice House on May 13th,
2016, with his family in his presence. He was preceded in death by parents
Eddie and Irene Bess, brothers Stone Bess, George Bess, Willie James
Bess, and grandson Carlos Javon Alston Jr.

Services will be held on Friday, May 27th 2016 from 4-5pm for family and
5-7pm for friends at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A service will be
conducted on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 11:00am at Wabasso Church of
God. Burial will follow at WabassoCemetery Wabasso, Florida.
