Edward James “Ed” Carlin
Edward James Carlin passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024. A kind & generous man, with a sharp mind and open heart. His advice has guided his family throughout their lives, for which they are eternally grateful. His words of wisdom will always be our path forward. Offering a gentle & easy smile, he was a great communicator, with a keen sense of knowing people. He was loved by many & will be remembered for the grace in which he lived his life. Also, for the grace in which he embraced his final days, with strength & courage. In heaven, Edward reunites with his wife of 63 years, and the love of his life, Theresa Carlin.
Mr. Carlin was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and resided in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Ed was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army and a sharpshooter. He graduated from Northeast Catholic High School, member of High Point Community, and member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, playing tennis, dancing, and playing cards.
Survivors include his daughters, Deborah O’Connell of Colorado, and Linda Hughes of Florida; son, Michael Carlin of Georgia; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Theresa Rita Carlin and grandson, Kevin Hughes.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnels to Towers.
Services: Inurnment will take place at South Florida National Cemetery. Date will be announced on www.haisleyfuneralhome.com Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
