Edward J. Garyon, 87, died January 24, 2012 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Mr. Garyon was born in Blackwood Terrace, New Jersey and moved to Ft. Pierce 16 years ago coming from Vineland, New Jersey.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving in the Battle of Okinawa in WWII. He was a Lieutenant and Deputy Troop Commander of Troop A of the New Jersey State Police retiring after 27 years of service. He was the Director of Surveillance at Bally Park Place Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey for 5 years, instructor of security & law enforcement at Cumberland County College in Vineland, New Jersey for 10 years, served as the City of Vineland Public Safety Director for 2 years. He was also a member of the Vineland Lions Club and of St. Lucie Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Patricia A. Garyon of Ft. Pierce, FL; son, Edward J. Garyon, Jr. of Stuart, FL; daughters, Dr. Patti (David) Corey-Souza of Port St. Lucie, FL and Kathleen (Robert) Hennis of Ft. Pierce, FL; 2 grandsons, Robert Hennis, Jr. and Joseph Hennis; step-granddaughters, Jessica Souza and Jaclyn Souza.

Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 8:30-9:30 AM at Haisley Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Lucie Catholic Church. Burial will take place at White City Cemetery.
