Edward “Ed” James Rogers, 63, of Port St. Lucie died Monday, May 10, 2009 at St. Lucie Medical Center.
Mr. Rogers was born in Havertown, Pennsylvania and moved to Port St. Lucie in 1996.
Ed was a teacher of reading skills in the Philadelphia Meade Public School for six years. He was an instructor of General Studies at the Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture for two years. Ed was an Associate Professor of Reading at Indian River Community College from 1975 until he retired in 1989 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of his students. Ed also owned and operated Rogers’ Lawncare and Landscaping.
Survivors include his daughter, Melanie Maria Rogers of Daytona Beach, FL; son, James Rogers; two grandchildren, Kiara Maddox and Eddie Maddox III of Daytona Beach, FL; brother, Philip Rogers.
