EDWARD JOSEPH CANARIE
Edward Joseph Canarie, 84, died December 24, 2009, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
Edward was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and was a resident of Fort Pierce, FL since 1994, coming from Cocoa Beach, FL.
He was a civil engineer with an MBA and retired from General Motors as a Field Quality Assurance Engineer. He served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He trained for the US Navy in Ft. Pierce, FL and was a plank owner of the USS Renate AKA36. He volunteered at the Ft. Pierce Manatee Center from its opening day, enjoyed playing cards, sports and the NY Giants, reading, theatre, gambling and cruising worldwide with this wife. Ed was also a member of the Pelican Yacht Club, the GM Retiree Club and Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Anne Canarie; daughters, Linda (Jim) Gale, Bonnie (Steven) Gleason, Jenny (Thomas) Hauser and Lori (John) McGrath; sister, Doris Reddington; and 11 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his only son, David Canarie and parents, Bruno and Genevieve Canarie.

A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00 A.M. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, North A1A, Vero Beach, FL. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
