Edward Martin Schmidt

Edward M “Ed” Schmidt, 89, died, April 9, 2006, at Port St Lucie Nursing and Restorative Care Center/Treasure Coast Hospice.He was a native of Jersey City and a resident of Fort Pierce since 1987, having come from Toms River, New Jersey.Before retirement, Mr. Schmidt was employed in quality control, most of his life in the aeronautics field. He was a member of Harmony Lodge #18, F&M in Toms River for over 50 years, a member of Valley of Trenton, Scottish Rite, a member of Amara Temple AAONMS of Palm Beach, FL, a past president of the Masonic Club of Lyndhurst, New Jersey, and a past patron of Gloria Chapter #159 O.E.S., and a member of the Port St Lucie Stroke Club.Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Hazel H. and a son, Wayne R. Schmidt and his wife Ann of Sarasota, FL
Memorial contributions may be made to Community United Methodist Church, 3114 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL or to the Shriners Hospital for crippled and burned children – Tampa, FLServices will be held on Thursday, April 13th at 11:00 AM at Community United Methodist Church with Pastor Steven Coss officiating.
