Edwin Stephen (Eddie, Steve, Knot) Cashwell, 78, died June 9, 2018 in Fort Pierce, Fl.

Edwin was born October 8, 1939 in Elizabethtown, NC.

Edwin attended White Oak High School in Bladen County, NC. He was in the US National Guard and US Reserve, Honorable Discharge.

Edwin retired as a career Master Auto Mechanic and was highly respected for his knowledge of engines. He enjoyed disassembling any item that stopped working and usually fixed it no matter what it was.

Edwin’s most favorite pastime was fishing be it fresh or salt water.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Leggett Cashwell; daughter, Betty Ann Taylor; son, Ashley Stephen Cashwell; Grandsons, Glendon Robert Taylor, Drew Stephens Taylor, and Stephen Ashley Cashwell of Fort Pierce, FL; 1 great-grandson; brother, Larry Lee Cashwell; sister, Mary Eloise Strickland of Elizabethtown, NC.

A viewing will be held Friday, June 15,, 2018 from 6 - 8:30 pm at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Rd, Fort Pierce. There will be a graveside service Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:30 am at White City Cemetery, Fort Pierce. A reception will follow at the Haisley Reception Center.

All attending are asked to wear blue jeans and white shirts because that was Edwin's standard attire. Come celebrate his life and share your memories.
