Elbert Lavone Lightsey, 84, died March 31, 2020 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Lightsey was born in Berea, Florida and moved to Fort Pierce 30 years ago coming from Lake Wales, Florida.
Elbert worked for Van Harvesting for many years and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, hunting his whole life. He also loved clay shooting at Quail Creek. Elbert was a good Christian man who was very loving and quiet. He was a huge family man who loved his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren thought their Papa was their Hero.
Survivors include his wife, Bonna Lightsey of Fort Pierce, FL; daughters, Denise Lightsey and Dana Lightsey both of Haines City, FL; son, Doug (Ginger) Lightsey of Haines City, FL; step-son, Brian (Cheri) Kujawski of Granger, IN; step-daughter, Christine (James) Florkowski of Mishawaka, IN; brother, David Lightsey of Lake Placid, FL, Bobby Lightsey of Lake Placid, FL, Mike Lightsey of Lake Placid, FL and Billy Lightsey of Orlando, FL; sister, Mary (Ed) Phillips of Lakeland, FL; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 dogs, Missy, Megan and best hunting retriever, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Lightsey.
There will be a private service held at Riverview Baptist Church with Pastor Leonard officiating. Burial will take place at South Florida VA National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL.
