Eric Alley was born in June 1, 1939 in Jenkins, Kentucky to James and Gretchen. Eric is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Alley, and sister Sue Burns.
Eric and Jean had three daughters: Angela, Jennifer, and Tina as well as three grandchildren: Erica, Sean, and Craig.
Eric joined the Army and played the trombone in the Army band. Eric attended the University of Kentucky where he met Jean. They were married June 16, 1962 at Rosemont Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky.
Eric graduated from the University of Kentucky and later earned his MBA from Baldwin Wallace.
Eric was a volunteer choir director and worship leader for many years as well as a deacon and elder.
A Kentucky Colonel, Eric was a huge Kentucky Wildcat fan. He rarely missed a UK basketball game; always donning one of his UK shirts.
He worked for iBM, American Greetings, TRW/Argo-Tech for more than 20 years. He finished his career at American Chemical Society before retiring to St Lucie West in 2004. Eric and Jean joined Westside Baptist Church where Eric was an active member as a volunteer Bible teacher and a deacon.
He enjoyed basketball, gardening, technology and spending time with family.
Eric was gentle, selfless, kind, funny, generous, and always a great listener. He was loved immensely, will be greatly missed and will always be remembered.
A gathering is scheduled on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL from 2:00 too 3:00 PM with a service to follow at 3:00 PM.
