Ethel “Polly” Rhoades
Ethel “Polly” Rhoades, 85, died March 9, 2010 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Rhoades was born in Christiansburg, Virginia and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1958 coming from Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
Prior to retirement, she served 18 years of dedicated service as manager of the Port St. Lucie Toll Plaza. She was an avid reader and pro football fan and loved taking care of her animals. She was a member of the Vero Beach Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughters, Harriett Porter of Crystal River, FL and Kandy Rhoades of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Frank Wickham of Collinsville, VA and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dot Sowers and brothers, Ray and Jimmy Wickham.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Macular Degeneration Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 531313, Henderson, NV 89053.
Services: Visitation will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 1-2 PM with a service to follow at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
