Etsehiywot Gebre-Amlak, 44, died October 12, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona.
She was born in Debra Zeyit, Ethiopia and spent her teenage years in Israel, India and Pakistan before moving to the United States. She made her home in Wilmington, North Carolina.
She was the owner and manager of Yellow House Child Care Center.
Survivors include her children, Naomi and Yared Etsehiywot; mother, Belaynesh Adinow and her siblings, Yemane Gebre-Amiak of Port St. Lucie, FL, Sefanit Adkins, Solomon Gebre-Amlak, Yonas Gebre-Amlak of Port St. Lucie, FL, Helen Gebre-Amlak, Selamawit Gebre-Amlak and Kassatihun Gebre-Amlak.
