Eugene E. Pollard

Eugene “Gene” E. Pollard, age 87, of Okeechobee passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at Treasure Coast Hospice.
Gene was born on May 10, 1929, in Portsmouth, Virginia to Elmer and Charlotte Pollard. He came to Okeechobee from Jensen Beach in 1980 and was an automotive mechanic for 44 years working for Ford and Chevrolet. Gene served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He loved bass fishing and won numerous tournaments. He also loved buying and selling cars, boats and most anything with a motor. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Beverley Pollard. Gene is survived by sons, David K. Pollard (Tricia) of Ft. Pierce, FL, Steven R. Pollard (Anita) of Ft. Collins, CO; daughter, Joanne Maggi (David) of Land O’ Lakes, FL; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a brother Alvin Pollard (Una) of Jacksonville, FL.
