Eugene Charles “Gene” Rowley
Eugene Charles “Gene” Rowley, 87, passed away on September 7, 2024 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Mr. Rowley was born in Bronx, New York and resided in St. Lucie County for the last 46 years.
Gene was a retired Firefighter Officer in Yonkers, New York. He was also a handyman. The 65 years that he was married to Jane they never had to call a repair shop, until the last few years and it drove him crazy. He did everything from putting in a whole A.C. unit to building a beautiful in-ground swimming pool in their home in Mahopac, New York. The last year of his life was difficult for him, he was captive in his body, from being blind, deaf, and in a wheelchair. He is much happier now with the Lord.
Gene, Jr. was our savior, if we would call, he would be there. He would take his dad out if needed, fix things, and pick him up when he fell.
Thanks to all the special people in our lives who have given their time and love to help us and make Gene still feel like he was a part of everything even with his disabilities. He loved our Thursday night dinner groups, that made him feel special, like “one of the gang”. I love you all.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jane Rowley of Fort Pierce, FL; and son, Gene Rowley of Fort Pierce, FL.
