EVA PAULINE ADAMSEva Pauline Adams, 100, died December 17, 2007 in a private assisted care home in Powahan, VA. where she had lived the past 10 years. She was born December 3, 1907 in Camden, NJ the fourth of five children of Margaret and Irvin Pharis Motes. She moved to Ft. Pierce in 1926 as the 19 year old bride of William J. “Bill” Adams.Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and long time sales representative of Dutchmaid Clothing. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce for over 60 years, a life long member and past Worthy Matron of Ft. Pierce Ruth Chapter No. 7, Order of the Eastern Star and instrumental in the organization and was first Mother Advisor of Ft. Pierce Assembly No. 9, Order of Rainbow for Girls.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, her only child Margaret Alice Lawson, her son-in-law Wilbert Lawson, her parents and her sister and three brothers.She left to cherish her memory, a grandson, Brett Lawson of Chesterfield, VA,a daughter-in-law Mary Ann Lawson of Powhatan, VA., four step-grandchildren in VA, numerous nieces and nephews scattered across the US and a host of friends that loved her dearly.A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 29 at 2PM at the Haisley Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ronald D. Thomas of First United Methodist Church officiating. An Eastern Star ritual will be included in the service. Her ashes will be privately interred in her family plot at Hillcrest Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent in Mrs. Adams memory to Ft. Pierce Assembly No. 9, Order of Rainbow for Girls.
