Evaristo A. Sanchez

Evaristo Antonio Sanchez, 88, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away April 22, 2023 peacefully surrounded by his family.

Evaristo was born April 3rd, 1935 in Santiago, Dominican Republic to Jose and Elena (Payan) Sanchez.

Evaristo enjoyed growing and creating things. He loved farming and growing things in his garden. He also had a passion for cooking things for his family using the ingredients he grew himself. Evaristo was fond of using his carpentry skills to build things for his family and friends using his own drawings. Evaristo was also a wrestling fan.

Evaristo, “Papa” and “Varo” as he was affectionately known by the people who loved him will be forever missed.

Survivors include his beloved daughters, Lourdes Montoya, Maria Elena Glerum, Ana Montoya, and Clara Sanchez. His devoted sons, Jose Manuel Sanchez, and Felix Sanchez, loving grandchildren, Julie Montoya, Cindy Montoya, Angie Martinez, Joshua Glerum, Joel Sanchez, Jocelina Sanchez, William Montoya, Jeovel Montoya, Paola Sanchez, and Manuel Sanchez. He will be greatly missed by his great-grandchildren, Brianna Armas, Victoria Ovando, Delilah Ovando, Jasmarie Glerum, Joshua Glerum Jr, Benjamin Rosario, Emily Rosario and Anthony Rosario.

He was predeceased by his mother, Elena Payam; beloved wife Juana Vasquez, grandson, Alex Sanchez, brother, Jose Domingo Sanchez, and mother-in-law, Ana Mercedes Fernandez.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 10AM to 12PM with a service to begin at 12PM at the Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port St. Lucie, FL 34984. A burial will follow at White City Cemetery Fort Pierce, FL.
