Evon Marie Stevenson Johnson also known as “Sissy” was born on August 23, 1959 in Snow Hill, Maryland to the late Issac Z. Beckett and Nettie Marie Smith.
Time to live:
Evon was a longtime resident of Florida coming from Snow Hill in the early 70’s. Evon received her early education at Snow Hill Elementary. Evon later attended Fort Pierce Central High School in St. Lucie County where she graduated in 1977. Evon worked as a certified nursing assistant doing private duty until she could no longer work. Evon was a very fun and loving woman. She loved playing cards, playing bingo, and spending time with family and friends.
Time to love:
Evon met Harry C. Johnson in her teenage years and was very fond of him. In 1993 Evon married Harry C. Johnson who remained her true love and best friend to the end. Evon was blessed with three beautiful children before her marriage that Harry loved as his own.
Time to serve:
Evon was a Baptist religion. Evon was a Christian and she loved the Lord.
Crossing the Bar:

Evon Johnson stepped on board the old ship of Zion at 9:23 am on May 18, 2022. She passed away at Fort Pierce Health Care. The Lord looked down and saw what she was going through and said, “come home”. Evon quietly slept away. She was preceded in death by her parents, Issac Beckett and Nettie Smith, brother, Brian Stevenson, niece, Latronida McLean.

Her generous spirit and vivacious life will forever be embedded in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her husband, Harry C. Johnson, Jr. of Fort Pierce, FL; son, Osborne W. Stevenson of Fort Pierce; stepson, Harry C. Johnson III of Fort Pierce, FL; daughters, Deyon (Rick) Wilson and Jessica M. Stevenson; stepdaughter, Rose Johnson; brothers, Issac Stevenson of Fort Pierce; Ira (Barbara) Stevenson of Snow Hill, MD; sisters, Seretta Foreman, Faith Deshields, and Faith Curtis all from Snow Hill, MD; grandchildren, Joshua M.J. Stevenson, Quisiera R. Wilson, Rickkyuna M. Wilson, Darrion A. Stevenson, Kamony T. Stevenson all from Fort Pierce, FL, Jayceon T. Stevenson; step-grandchildren, Delwyn Chester, Laquarius Johnson, and Lakayla Johnson all from Fort Pierce, FL, Latrecia Johnson, Harry C. Johnson, Jasmine Johnson, and Harry M. Johnson all from Detroit, MI; step-great-grandson, Prince Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
