Ferdinand Pierre

April 23, 1937 — October 31, 2022

Ferdinand Pierre, 85, of Port St. Lucie, FL, departed on Monday morning, October 31, 2022, at Broward Health Hospital, surrounded by his beloved family.

Ferdinand, more commonly known to friends and family as “Papi Dede,” was born in Cotes-de-Fers, Haiti on April 23, 1937. He immigrated to the United States in his late adult life to find better opportunities for his family, during which time many sacrifices were made. He worked tirelessly day and night for many years in order to help bring his entire family to the US, including numerous grandchildren. He was a very hard-working man and a true Superhero to everyone.

Dede loved to laugh and can always be found telling jokes. He would make you smile even during tough times. He loved the outdoors and gardening. His dream was always to purchase acres of land and build his own “Pierre City” for all his family and friends. In a way, we are already living in Pierre City and fulfilling the legacy he left behind.

Ferdinand is survived by his beautiful loving wife of 57 years, Dorotte Pierre; along with his children; Fritz Pierre, Marc-Henry Pierre, Marie Carole Pierre, Wilson Pierre, Lovely Day, Mireille Sterling, Jean-Max Pierre, Dr Betina Louis, Eddy Pierre, Eliana Pierre, Marie Maude Pierre, Marie Josee Pierre, Gislaine Pierre, Pierre Richard and many beautiful loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and relatives. Ferdinand was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, and a true patriarch and mentor to everyone. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
