Fran Greene

With deep sorrow but profound gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Frances M. Greene on Saturday morning, March 23, 2024 in Port St. Lucie Florida. Fran's legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
Fran was born in Richmond, VA on July 4, 1944 to Bea (Bessie) and Roy H. Smith. In her youth, she attended John Marshall high school and Meredith College. In 1964, Fran married Wayne B. Roberts. They had three children: Roy, Al, and Sandra. After some years, Fran and Wayne amicably divorced.
In 2009, Fran was living in Florida where she met Michael S. Greene. His wife, Ann, had been in Fran's wedding in 1964. After Ann’s passing, Fran and Mike struck up a friendship. They were happily married on January 16, 2010 in Ft. Pierce Florida.

Children: Michael Greene and Tim Greene, Roy Roberts, Al Roberts, Sandra Colley
Children’s spouses: Andrea Greene, Melissa Roberts, Dan Colley
Grandchildren: Marston Greene, Sam Roberts, Justin Roberts, Hanna Estes, William Roberts, Maddy Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Emma Roberts, Tricia Roberts, Joelle Roberts, Elijah Colley, Ethan Colley, Luke Colley, and Landon Colley
Great grandchildren: Ella Estes and Elisha Estes
Fran lived a life rich in love and faith. Born with a heart full of compassion and a spirit of adventure, she embraced every moment. Fran's journey took her across cities and continents, each chapter filled with love and purpose. From her early days in Richmond, VA, to Raleigh, NC, to Katonah, NY, to Tokyo, Japan, to Milton, FL, Fort Pierce, FL, and finally settling in Port St. Lucie, FL, Fran touched countless lives with her warmth and kindness.
Professionally, Fran pursued her dream of becoming a nurse, graduating from Westchester Community College in 1985 where she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse (R.N.), pouring her heart into caring for others. Whether it was advocating for her patients or lending a comforting hand, Fran's compassion knew no bounds. She served in various healthcare facilities, including Julia L. Butterfield Memorial Hospital in Cold Springs, NY, Richmond Memorial Hospital in Mechanicsville, VA, Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL, and other medical centers in Florida.
Beyond her career, Fran found joy in being active and involved. She took many trips to visit family and help care for her grandbabies. And she was ever ready to lend a hand, engage in conversation, or embark on adventures like gardening, bike rides. and paddleboarding. With her characteristic spirit of determination, she tackled many a challenge. Her zest for life was infectious, and she cherished every moment.
Family was at the heart of Fran's world. She loved her husband, Mike, and his family. She shared a special bond with her brother Don. She loved her children and she treasured every moment with her grandchildren, whose very existence brought immense joy to her life.
