Francis N. Leschinsky, 97, of Port St. Lucie, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at his home.
He was born August 20, 1918, in St. Paul,MN, the son of the late Francis P. and Irene (Schaeffer) Leschinsky. He was educated in the St. Paul School system, and was a lifelong resident of the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN area. He moved to Port St. Lucie in 2010.
Francis was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. He was stationed in Alaska, building railways.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an insurance agent.
Mr. Leschinsky was a member of the VFW and a life member of the American Legion, locally with Post #318 of Port St. Lucie. He also enjoyed reading, especially if it had to do with History or Political Science - past or present.
Francis was the husband of the late Mary (Marko) Leschinsky who died in 2005, and is survived by his sons, William P. and his wife Constance Leschinsky of Boca Raton, and James T. Leschinsky of Port St. Lucie; a daughter, Mary Kay Piemonte of Holtsville, NY; grandchildren, Christine Lang of Miami, Brian Leschinsky of Pompano Beach, Violet Palmer of Asheville, NC, Brett Leschinsky of Plymouth, MN, and Ann Marie Nicholas of Lakeville, MN; great grandchildren, Zachary Lang of Miami, Matthew Palmer and Jasmine Palmer both of Asheville, NC, Megan Leschinsky of Plymouth, MN and Brady Reiswig of Lakeville ,MN.
Services will be held at a later date.
